Student Leaders Create, Launch Districtwide #Culture4Caring Initiative
Students from across the district met over the summer to collaborate on the #Culture4Caring initiative.
Culture4Caring, a student-created and student-led organization comprised of student leaders from every campus, was created in response to recent national and local events. The club’s primary focus is to make every student in Klein feel loved and cared for and where caring is the “norm.”
“We are building Culture for Caring so we can make a more inclusive and welcoming environment within our district and in our schools,” organization spokesperson Rachel Thomlinson said. “We are doing this so we can make sure that everyone feels like this is a place they belong.”
The organizations’ shared vision and five areas of missional focus, which were both created and refined by students, reflect the goals set forth by the students.
Culture for Caring vision: Together as students, we will create a culture for caring one student, one friend, one school, one community at a time by honoring Originality, Unity, Kindness, Culture, and Equality so that every student feels a part of our community.
Next steps for the students include making an appearance at an upcoming Klein ISD Board meeting, planning campus-specific events, and finding sponsors for larger projects.
