Culture4Caring: Something Great for Everyone

Culture4Caring: Something Great for Everyone

Hi! My name is Brayden Espinosa, and I am a junior at Klein Cain High School. I originally got into Culture4Caring after hearing about it from my class officer sponsor, Mrs. Shehata. She said that my fellow class officers and I were invited to a new district-wide initiative’s meeting, and I found the name “Culture4Caring” interesting. I decided to attend and did not regret it one bit. As soon as I walked through the cafeteria doors at Klein Collins, I was greeted by a girl I would soon learn was the President of the group, Teslyn. She informed me of what the meeting was about, and from the moment the meeting began, I genuinely was in awe of how students from schools in our district could come together to create such an amazing thing. This was not a teacher getting some students together to do something that is not genuine; these were my peers taking initiative for something they believed in. I attended every meeting from there on out, and still am glad that I did. I was fortunate enough to be elected as one of the Founding Member’s Directors, and I know that C4C can do spectacular things not only for our district, but for our community.

I am a very passionate person with very strong opinions, and if there is one thing I cannot stand, it is bullying. I have seen it up close and personal, and there is nothing beneficial to anyone that comes out of it. This is where I see Culture4Caring as something great for everyone. If we can create a community where no one is left behind and seen as an outcast, then we can focus on helping one another and building up each other’s strengths, allowing our world to be better for EVERYONE. Imagine the things our community can accomplish when everyone comes together and works towards a common goal. History has shown us what can be done when this is the case, and I believe that is how it should be.

It is no secret that hatred and negatively consumes parts of our world today. And although small now, all it takes is a wave to start a hurricane. I believe in and fully support the ideas that Culture4Caring stands for, and I know that great things are on the way for our initiative and our community.
