Beloved local pediatrician and proud Klein Forest High School graduate, Dr. Doug LaCour was honored as the September Alumnus of the Month by the Klein ISD Board of Trustees during their meeting.
While presenting Dr. LaCour with his award, Deputy Superintendent Jenny McGown shared this, “When people from 1980s era Klein Forest think of Doug LaCour, they might picture him enthusiastically leading the Golden Eagle Band as drum major, helping other people and showing his servant’s heart, or maybe they think of him as a person of strong character.” “All those are true of Doug today.”
After graduating from Klein Forest, Dr. LaCour earned degrees from The University of Texas and Baylor College of Medicine. He went on to become the Neonatology Chief Resident and outstanding Senior Resident. He’s recognized by North Houston Magazine in their list of Top Docs for Kids.
Dr. LaCour has given back to our district by serving as the keynote speaker at Klein Forest’s “Dinner of Champions” and the Klein ISD Academic Honors Banquet.

“I’m honored especially in light of the bounty of outstanding Klein ISD alumni in the Klein district who have chosen to return to the community to live, to raise families, pursue careers and entrust another generation of children into the hands of Klein ISD educators,” says Dr. LaCour “When your mentors are excellent, truly excellent, then the knowledge they impart upon you, the personal grown one experiences under their tutelage, and the understanding of the world gained from the time spent under the people we call teacher, begins to expand far beyond the narrow curriculum of any one class.”
