During the September meeting, the Klein ISD Board of Trustees recognized Susan Huff and the Klein Trails Girl Scouts as the September Stand Up for Texas Public Schools honorees. In 2013, Huff and her troop launched the 3T program to help Klein ISD students in need by giving gift bags containing essential items. The 3T title comes from the items in the bags; top (shirt, sweater or coat), toy and age & gender appropriate toiletries. In just six years, the number of bags donated grew from 58 at one school, to 590 at 27 Klein ISD campuses in the 2017-2018 school year. Most of the bags now also have a blanket, mittens and a stocking. During the meeting, Klein ISD Board President Bill Pilkington expressed his gratitude to Huff and the troop, saying, “We are very grateful to Susan Huff and the Klein Trails Girl Scouts for their servant’s hearts and for truly making a difference for Klein ISD students.”
