Golf, Breakfast, & Newspapers! 90 Seconds

The Klein ISD Education Foundation hosted the 17th annual A. K. Buddy Brown Golf Classic at the Gleannloch Pines Golf Club on October 9, 2018. The event raised $126,170 toward educator grants. This year, Masters Champion Patrick Reed and his wife Justine, a Klein Forest High School graduate, helped kick off the tournament. Thanks to Diamond Sponsors Campus Kids and Team Reed Foundation and all of our very generous donors and sponsors who make this annual event an overwhelming success. To date, the Klein ISD Education Foundation has awarded nearly $1.8 million in grants.
And in September we recognized the many school, community, and business partners who support Klein ISD with our annual Partners in Education breakfast. We’re grateful to have so many Promise2Purpose investors who in the 2017-2018 school year, donated more than $2 million dollars in money and in-kind gifts for Klein ISD students and staff.
Another great Klein ISD partnership is with the Community Impact newspaper. Teaming up with the publication has enabled us to have a broader reach when distributing the Klein District News. We’re all about every. And now we reach every mailbox within the boundaries of Klein ISD. That’s over 100,000 mailboxes! So check your mailbox for the Klein District News insert in the November edition of Community Impact.
And finally, combining Building Community with Cultivating Talent. The Holdsworth Teacher Development Group, made up of staff from the Holdsworth Center along with Central Office and campus staff, is hosting a Teacher Leadership Development Summit later this month. Participants will have the opportunity to learn how Klein’s Profile of a Leader comes to life in a variety of roles, gain insight from current district leaders on what it’s like to fill a leadership role, and how our P2P investors can grow professionally.
