P2P Pathways, Bus Safety, and an Upcoming Multicultural Celebration | 90 Seconds

In Klein ISD, our vision is that every student enters with a promise and exits with a purpose. We do this by ensuring every student, from elementary through high school, has a clear path to success. EVERY student in Klein ISD has the opportunity to explore a wide variety of pathways like Advanced Nursing, Global Business, Geospatial Engineering, Automotive Technology, and the list goes on and on!

These pathways prepare students for a career or college and offer real financial savings for families! For example, students currently enrolled in the Geospatial Engineering and Land Surveying pathway will have earned an Associate of Arts degree from the Lone Star Community College system by the time they graduate high school. Out of all the credits they’ve earned, 45 hours will transfer towards a college degree. That means these families will have saved nearly $3,000. The savings are even higher when compared to what these same courses would cost at a four-year university after high school! For more information about pathways in Klein ISD, check out kleinisd.net/pathways.

Switching gears, October was school bus safety month. However, this is really a year-round priority for us. In Klein ISD, we make every effort to keep students safe not only on campus but also to and from school on our busses. Throughout October we shared safety tips as you ride on or share the road with school buses. To learn or refresh your memory about rules of the road when encountering a school bus, search the Twitter hashtag, #BeAwareDriveLikeYouCare.

We end today’s episode with a save the date! Mark your calendars for December 1st from noon to 4 p.m. for our inaugural P2P United Multicultural Celebration. The day features student performances, Art Exhibits, food and activities highlighting the rich diversity of our city, community, and district. This family-friendly event is open to the public.
