What is Enrichment Hour?
Enrichment Hour is a weekly opportunity where every staff member pitches in to share their passion with students who have the same interest. This is personalized learning in action, where students are highly engaged.
How did the whole idea of enrichment groups come about?
Principal, Carole Mason, had a vision of an arts integrated campus when she opened French Elementary in 2015. While researching the benefits of such a program, Mrs. Mason and a team of teachers observed fine arts integrated schools in Round Rock ISD. The team saw Enrichment Hour at one of their campuses and believed that an enrichment hour would enhance her vision of an arts integrated school at French Elementary.
How does Enrichment Hour work?
It takes place one day a week for 6 weeks, and students choose what group they would like to attend for that rotation. Classes are composed of students from all grade levels, Pre-K through 5th grade.
French is currently in our second year of implementing this educational and highly engaging program that develops our students in becoming equipped scholars, pathway explorers, and college and career ready, while our staff is developing the whole learner.
