Klein Collins Teacher Recognized for Art Contributions

Congratulations to Klein Collins art teacher, Mike Hall who was named a 2018 Texas Art Education Association (TAEA) Distinguished Fellow, which recognizes members who have made long-term distinguished contributions to the work of the association and to the advancement of the profession.

“I try to promote a positive, proactive role model for my school principal, colleagues, and students,” said Hall. “I love this work and try to show others how to have fun learning, promoting, and making art.”

Hall has been a professional fixture in the history of TAEA for over 25 years and you can see his impact everywhere. He has photographed thousands of works of art and events in the history of TAEA, chronicling some of TAEA’s most important milestones. As Vice President-Youth Art Month, he moved the YAM Booklet to a digital format and brought awareness to this important art advocacy event in Texas. He is a joyous leader, an outstanding art educator, and a committed member of TAEA.

Hall has been a classroom teacher since 1992, where he has taught in Aldine and Klein Independent School Districts. He is a favorite of his students as his infectious smile and laugh that welcome them each day.
