Board Meeting Highlights, 90 Seconds

The Klein ISD Board of Trustees welcomed new members at the December meeting as Chris Todd and Julie Benes were sworn in. Congratulations to Ronnie Anderson as he begins his fourth term after serving on the Board for nine years. We’re excited to have all three on the Board as we work together to ensure that every Klein ISD student enters with a promise and exits with a purpose.
The Board also elected officers and made appointments to several groups for the year.
Later in the meeting, we were in for a musical treat as the Klein Forest High School Chorale performed some holiday favorites.
The Klein ISD Education Foundation presented the 2018 Fall Grant winners. $58,700 in grants were awarded to teachers and schools across Klein ISD! Thanks to the Foundation and those who donate for their part in helping our teachers educate students in innovative and exciting ways.
Lindsey Merrbach was honored as the Klein I-S-D Alumni of the Month. Lindsey, a Klein Oak High School graduate, currently serves Klein ISD students as a teacher at Mahaffey Elementary. Congratulations, Lindsey! Thank you for being a shining example of a P2P investor.
And speaking of P2P Investors, Northside Christian Church was saluted as the December Stand Up for Texas Public Schools award winner for their continued commitment to serving our staff and students.
The Board approved several construction project updates happening across our district, including roofing updates and elementary vestibule renovations.
