JUNIOR LEAGUE OF THE WOODLANDS ANNOUNCES DR. RICK RIGSBY AS THE 2019 IMPACT SPEAKER

The Woodlands, TX—Junior League of The Woodlands welcomes Dr. Rick Rigsby, the 2019 speaker for its annual IMPACT event. Dr. Rick Rigsby is President and CEO of Rick Rigsby Communications. The former award-winning journalist followed a television career with graduate school—and two decades as a college professor with most of those years at Texas A&M University, where he also served as character coach and chaplain for the Aggies football team.

Dr. Rigsby’s dynamic presentations motivate, empower and inspire worldwide—from Africa and Asia, to the Americas, Europe and Canada. His audiences include Fortune 500 companies, academic communities, and service organizations. The internationally acclaimed speaker is a favorite among professional sports organizations, including the National Football League and the PGA. Named twice as an outstanding professor in the College of Liberal Arts at Texas A&M, Dr. Rigsby has numerous publications. His first non-academic book, Lessons from a Third Grade Dropout, is a USA TODAY, Wall Street Journal, and Amazon bestseller.

IMPACT stands for Increase and Motivate Positive Awareness in Children and Teachers, and is an event developed from a former Junior League program called “Through the Looking Glass.” This one-day event, begun in 2008, hosts a compelling speaker with the goal to motivate and inspire educators and administrators.

Junior League of The Woodlands partners with local school districts and numerous private schools; inviting all staff, admission free, to learn while earning continuing education credits. In 2016, IMPACT created the Dollar for Districts contest.

This year’s event will take place on Saturday, February 9 at 9 am at The Woodlands United Methodist Church. As a special treat, each attendee will enjoy a warm cookie thanks to League Sponsor Tiffs Treats Research Forest! For more information, visit https://www.jlthewoodlands.org/impact/.

Junior League of The Woodlands is an organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women, and improving communities through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. Its purpose is exclusively educational and charitable.
