Klein ISD Named Statewide Finalist in 2019 H-E-B Excellence in Education Awards

KLEIN, TX – We are thrilled to announce that Klein ISD is one of 5 statewide finalists for the HEB Excellence in Education Awards!

The HEB Excellence in Education Award recognizes school districts for their commitment to student achievement through innovative programs, parent and community involvement, and professional development opportunities for teachers and administrators.

“Being named a finalist for the H-E-B Excellence Education Award is a testament to the great work being done in classrooms and departments across this top-tier district,” Superintendent Dr. Bret Champion said. “The work being done in our classrooms centered around our guiding documents of Profile of a Learner, Profile of a Leader, and High-Quality Teaching has allowed us to align all our arrows in the district as we guide our students from promise to purpose. We are extremely honored that H-E-B has recognized us for the work we are doing in Klein classrooms every day.”

Our students are at the center of everything we do in Klein ISD. Collectively, the district and the community have dedicated time establishing a strong foundation that focuses on honoring our rich Klein heritage, always placing students at the heart of our work, and aligning everything around one singular, shared vision that Every Student Enters With A Promise and Exits With A Purpose.

“We have a beautiful story to tell in Klein ISD because it’s the story of the amazing people in our Klein Family,” Deputy Superintendent Dr. Jenny McGown said. “This honor is something the entire Klein community can celebrate and is a direct result of the outstanding work of EVERY educator, employee, family, community member, school board member, and student.”

The winner of the award will be announced in early May. This distinction is one more indicator that Klein ISD continues to be a top-tier school district for our kids and our Klein community.
