KHS School of Character, 50th Annual FFA Show: 90 Seconds

Let’s kick things off with a BIG celebration! Congratulations to Klein High School for being named a State School of Character. They’re one of only 87 schools in the nation, and the ONLY high school in Texas to receive the honor from Character.org. Every day the Bearkats live our shared Promise2Purpose vision and their core values called the Klein Five. Gratitude, Integrity, Empathy, Perseverance, and Service. Congratulations, Klein High Bearkats on this awesome achievement!

Looking ahead this week, we’re celebrating 50 years of growing leaders and celebrating traditions with the annual Klein ISD FFA Livestock and Project show!

The event kicks off at 6 p.m. February 6th at the Klein Multipurpose Center with 3 days of competition. What began as a small show under the bleachers at Klein Memorial Stadium back in 1968 has grown to well over 400 students presenting more than 900 projects like floral design, horticulture, and ag mechanics along with the ever-popular animals.

Steven Iida, Senior, Klein Collins HS

“Klein show is very unique and special because we’re the Klein ISD family and community. We’re very fortunate to have a super nice facility to show at, but also such a big community just around the showing. It’s like nothing else I’ve experienced.”

And right in the middle of the show excitement will be a 50th-anniversary celebration on the evening of February 7th. This week culminates in a live auction in the Klein Multipurpose Ag Arena. That event begins at 1:30 p.m. All of the events are open to the public. So come and check out all the action! Details and a schedule can be found at www.kleinisdffalivestockshow.net.

The Livestock show, FFA, and our agriculture classes all align perfectly with our guiding document, Profile of a Leader. Every step of the way, these students learn valuable skills which empower them to be relationship driven and forever learners.

Many thanks to all of the Promise2Purpose investors who gave of their time, energy, and resources to make this event and most importantly these students and their projects, a success.
