Do you know how to spell “menhaden” and “puffery?” If not, just ask these spelling superstars! They’re the words our district spelling bee champions, Zain Raja from Ehrhardt Elementary, and Aditi Naveen from Hildebrandt Intermediate, spelled to to win the Klein ISD Elementary and Intermediate Spelling bees.
As district champions, Aditi and Zain now move on to compete in the Houston Public Media Spelling Bee which takes place this March. Congratulations, and good luck!
Congratulations are also in order to the Doerre Intermediate Symphony Orchestra! They were the ONLY full orchestra from an intermediate school to be selected to perform at the Texas Music Educators Association’s annual conference. The TMEA honor orchestra program recognizes quality musicianship at the highest level by showcasing them at the conference each year. This is a HUGE honor. We are so proud of these students and their directors. Just another example of why Klein ISD continues to be one of the top communities for the fine arts!
It was another successful year for the Klein ISD FFA Livestock and Project show. This was the 50th consecutive year for the show and sale. The 2019 live auction raised nearly $160,000, all of which go directly to students where they can purchase another animal or project for next year, or towards their post-secondary educational pursuits. Thanks to all of our P2P investors who support these students as they work their way towards exiting with a purpose.
