Yesterday, we updated our 7,600 Klein ISD employees about where we stand with the 2019-2020 budget. With the lack of additional funding from a Tax Ratification Election or from the state school finance system, we still have an obligation to continue to ensure we are fiscally sound. We know that Klein ISD is a great place to live and learn because we have great people here, and we are working very hard to make sure that no one in our Klein ISD family loses a job. And we still continue to focus on what is most important, our students.
We’re hopeful that the legislature has the same focus. To ensure our voice is heard, many of us have been in Austin recently advocating for fair & equitable funding for public schools. In fact, our Klein ISD Board members are in Austin today meeting with our state legislators speaking on behalf of our Klein kids, employees, and community.
Everyone has something to gain in keeping Klein a great place to live and learn. We hope you’ll join us in continuing to fight for our Texas public schools and for every student, every teacher, and every employee in Klein ISD.
