The Klein Forest Golden Eagles will play the Duncanville Panthers Saturday, March 9th, in the state finals at 8:30 p.m after defeating the Cibolo Steele Knights 69-60 in Friday night’s state semifinal game.

The first half was back and forth, but the Knights ultimately ended up leading by 10. The Golden Eagle crowd grew anxious but had faith their team could turn it around.

The Eagles scored 19 points in the third quarter while the Knights put 7 on the board. Thanks to an outstanding play by Kharee McDaniel and Calvin Solomon, who each scored a total of over 20 points, the Golden Eagles dominated the second half and took the win!

Head Coach Cary Black knew this couldn’t be done without the Klein community rallying around this basketball team.

“It means a lot to our guys,” he said. “The guys can feel the support and they really want to make everyone proud.”

The last time the Klein Forest boys basketball team saw a state final was in 2000.

Good luck to our amazing athletes! Your Klein Family is behind you!
