This year 7th and 8th grade students on Academic Pentathlon Teams across the district have been studying the 1960s to prepare for the district competition. At this event, they compete in five subjects including Social Science, Science, Fine Arts, Literature and Math. This year’s theme lead them to learn about presidents, politics, protests, the science of light, American pop culture, art and music from the 60s, algebra, trigonometry, and a study of the novel, The Revolution of Evelyn Serrano by Sonia Manzano.
All the credit for this successful event goes to the students who worked tirelessly to prepare, and the coaches who dedicated their time to support them. Congratulations to all who participated!
