EL Exchange Day Hours

P2P Investors, last year we had an amazing turnout of educators discovering more about English Learner (EL) strategies to personalize the learning for our students. We had a record attendance of over 3,000 educators between our face-to-face and online Professional Learning sessions.

The combination of positive comments and feedback led the EL Guiding Coalition to bring the initiative back for the year 2019 -2020. Just like we personalize the learning for our students, we are also striving to personalize professional learning for our educators.

The changes for the year 2019-2020 are as follows: content area teachers from PK – 12 will be required to fulfill 3 hours of EL credits. There will be a range of professional learning opportunities offered by Teaching and Learning in various modalities.

Among these opportunities being offered is the Multilingual Mini-Conference, which will take place on June 13th from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Educators will be able to personalize their learning by choosing from sessions that include technology, pedagogy, and social and cultural responsiveness. Tonya Ward Singer, a leading educator/advocate for English Learners and Visible Learning consultant, will be the keynote speaker that day. Each session will be worth one hour, so you can join all day or just part of the day.
