It’s PSAT season in Klein ISD. All students in grades 9-11 will take the PSAT on Wednesday, October 16. To kickstart this important season in education, Klein ISD Advanced Academics Instructional Officer Kathleen Plott will be hosting a Facebook Live event. She’ll be ready to answer questions and address test preparation approaches, as well as provide essential exam insight and study tips and tricks.

The Facebook Live event will be held on Monday, September 30, at 8 p.m. We know there are many questions surrounding this exam from families and students alike, so we want to take this opportunity to make sure that everyone is confident and fully-equipped to crush this test!

Here’s a preview of what you can expect during our live Facebook event–make sure you tune in on Monday at 8 p.m. for more!

Did you know?

  • PSAT does NOT stand for “Practice SAT.” The official title of this test is PSAT/NMSQT, which stands for Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test and National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test. This means that to become a National Merit Scholar and receive scholarship money, you must do well on this test – although it’s always a good idea to try your best!
  • Answering a question wrong doesn’t count against you; you simply aren’t awarded any points for that question. When in doubt, guess. It can’t hurt you, and it can only help you (on this specific test!)
  • Taking the PSAT (and taking it seriously!) gives you a general feel for the layout of the test and types of questions asked.
  • This will allow you to gauge your strengths and weaknesses to identify where you can improve.

If you have questions that you’d like answered live, please feel free to submit them HERE

If you can’t join us for the Facebook Live event, don’t worry! We will be sure to record and post it on Klein ISD social media. For more in-depth about the PSAT, visit kisd.us/psatinfo.
