Last week, educators, community members, district leaders, and board members met for the monthly Klein Leadership Coalition meeting. This month’s focus was being effective advocates for our students, our schools, and our district after a monumental legislative season.
“There is no offseason in advocating for our public schools,” Klein ISD Superintendent Dr. Jenny McGown said.
The meeting outlined key ways that individuals can support the public school system that we all know and love. Take a look below!
- Be sure you are registered to vote. The deadline to register in the November election is October 7.
- Be Informed – It is important to be a knowledgeable voter. Utilize the website texaseducatorsvote.com. Texas Educators Vote is a non-partisan, partnership-based project working to create a culture of voting in Texas public schools. Encourage others to get out to vote, every voice counts!
- Share the Good News – Attendees learned how Klein is continuing its tradition of excellence and innovation. Advocating for Klein is as simple as a small conversation. Share the website, kleinisd.net/results to see all that the students, teachers, and staff accomplished in the 2018-2019 school year. Positive conversations can change the way the state thinks about public schools.
- Klein ISD Benefits from HB 3 – Our Board of Trustees adopted the lowest tax rate in nine years. Read more by clicking HERE.
We look forward to digging deeper into advocacy efforts with our Klein Family.
