Outstanding Kleb Students and Educators Recognized at Board Meeting

Kleb Intermediate is a place where passion meets pathways, literally. The campus recently took a week to explore passion projects and had lessons in digital citizenship so our Bearcubs grow up to be responsible on and offline! Today we will celebrate a few outstanding individuals that shine bright on the campus!

Mahtab Dastur
Mahtab is a bearcub of all trades. Not only is she a DI Global participant (6), she placed second place in the state for critical thinking and first place in the oratacular (public speaking) competition. She’s also on the all-A honor roll (6/7), serves as the Student Council Character Chair, and is a Duke TIP award winner. While we have your ear, we may as well mention that she’s a published poet in the Creative Commons, a member of the Bearcub Club, and an active member of the National Junior Honor Society. Most notably, though, she founded Books for Schools in Vietnam, which has since expanded to The Bahamas.

Isaac Lagarda
Isaac is a proud Pentathlon medalist, Junior VASE medalist, and track medalist. He’s an all-A honor roll student for two years running while participating in the soccer club and math club. Additionally, he plays football and runs cross country. When he’s not medaling in sports, fine arts, and academics, he finds the time to participate in the GT Innovation Challenge.

Mrs. Chelsey Laubach
Chelsey wears many hats at Kleb and rocks all of them! She coaches the award-winning Cross Country team, serves as a lead mentor, runs the new-to-Kleb PLC, is the CIDC/DIDC rep, and Rtl data manager.  She wrote most of the advanced science curriculum, lead character education through den last year, and was honored as the 2018-2019 Campus Teacher of the Year.
