Unofficial Results from Klein ISD Board of Trustees Election Released
Cathy Arellano (Position 6) and Rob Ellis (Position 7) will serve on the Klein ISD Board pending official election results and vote canvassing.
Unofficial results from Tuesday’s election for Klein ISD Board of Trustees Position 6 and 7 confirm that Cathy Arellano, who ran unopposed in position 6, and Rob Ellis, who ran for position 7, will serve as Klein ISD Board members pending official election results and vote canvassing. Vote canvassing is required by Texas law to account for every ballot cast and to ensure that each valid vote is included in the official results.
In Position 6, Board member Cathy Arellano ran unopposed.

Arellano has served on the board since 2016. She has lived in the district for more than 15 years, and her son is a Klein Oak High School graduate. Cathy has been a part of the Klein ISD family since 1987 when she joined the staff at Klein Oak High School as the Drill Team/Dance Instructor. She moved into administration as the Klein Oak assistant principal in 2002 and later in 2010 as an associate principal. Prior to joining Klein ISD, Cathy taught in Conroe ISD and LaMarque ISD. She retired from public education with 40 years of service. Cathy still actively volunteers in Klein ISD schools, is a Director with the Klein ISD Education Foundation, a charter member of the Texas Dance Educators Association, a member of the Texas Association of School Boards, and a member of the Texas Retired Teachers Association. She owns her own businesses, Miss Dance Drill Team Texas Competition Company and Jazzercise -The Woodlands. Cathy earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Education from the University of Texas and her Masters of Education from Prairie View A&M University
In Position 7, Rob Ellis ran against Maria Hartmann, James Wang, Dr. Mary J. Crosby, and Rebekah Schlichting.

Ellis is fully committed to serving Klein ISD and our community. With several children in Klein schools, maintaining Klein ISD’s tradition of excellence is a top priority for him. He has extensive legal training, which will provide an additional helpful perspective during Board discussions. As a trial lawyer, he has experience digesting large amounts of information, simplifying complicated issues, and following the legal rules.
Results will be official after they are canvassed on Nov. 18, and trustees will be ceremoniously sworn in at the Monday, Dec. 9, 2019, Board of Trustees’ meeting at the Klein Multipurpose Center located at 7500 FM 2920, Klein, TX 77379.

We also want to extend our deepest thanks to the dedication of Rick Mann, who served as a Trustee for over 27 years. Mr. Mann will be honored by the Board for his many years of service to Klein ISD during the Nov. 11, 2019, Board meeting.
