Teacher Leadership Development Summit Reflection

Teacher Leadership Development Summit Reflection

On October 26th, over 100 teachers attended our second Teacher Leadership Development Summit held by the Holdsworth Teacher Development Working Group. The content of the day consisted of participants reflecting on their purpose to enhance their leadership, identifying new strategies and skills to strengthen leadership skills, and expanding the network of P2P investors across and outside the district.

Participants listened as Assistant Principal Tyrone Void shared his path of leading from his seat and how it still drives him today in his new role as an assistant principal. Attendees were then given the opportunity to break out into two sessions.

There were eight session options: Campus Development of Student Profiles, Building Teacher Clarity: Learning Intentions and Success Criteria, Knowing Coworkers by Name, Strength and Need, Entering the Highway to Cultural Competency, Leader of Self: Diving into Competencies, Coaching as a Leader through Training, Consulting and Mentoring, Leadership Promotion: Prepping for the Hiring Process, and Leading with Personality: Discover the Power. Each session was designed to deepen an understanding of the Klein ISD Profile of a Leader. All resources will be shared in a Schoology course so that both participants and those unable to attend can utilize the information.

The Teacher Development Working group will host another summit on January 18, 2020. The Teacher Development Working group will host another summit on January 18, 2020.
