Klein ISD Family Engagement Presenting at Statewide Conference
Klein ISD Family Engagement was featured in three sessions during the most recent Statewide Parental Involvement Conference that took place in early December in San Marcos, Texas.
Our district was featured during the session of Ms. Anita Villarreal, TEA Division Director for Parent & Family Engagement. During this session, Klein ISD presented alongside Alief ISD and Fort Bend ISD about Collaborative Conversations, an innovative initiative that the three school districts began two years ago to build the capacity of staff directly working with families. This is now a model in the State of Texas.
Klein ISD was also invited to be part of the panel that discussed “The Harvard Experience.” This was for districts that have attended the Family Engagement Institute at Harvard University to share ideas for the implementation of the Dual Capacity Framework for Family School Partnerships.
Parent Liaisons from Kaiser Elementary and Eiland Elementary, Ana Alvarez and Lisbeth Olmo, presented a session that highlighted best practices in compliance for Family Engagement under Title I requirements. They were joined by their school principals, Ms. Betty Zavala and Mr. David Menendez.
Klein ISD Family Engagement looks to connect families to learning to support their students from Promise2Purpose. For more information, please contact: Maria Ovalle- Lopez, Klein ISD Family Engagement Coordinator, email@example.com.
