Grace England Hosts Community Blood Drive

This past week, Grace England Early Childhood Center partnered with Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center for a community blood drive. Staff, parents, and guardians were lined up to donate blood. At the end of the day, over 30 blood donors showed up to help combat the Houston area’s blood shortage.

“800 donations are needed daily to meet the demand and it is very hard during the holidays to supply our hospitals with what they need as far as blood donations go,” Gulf Coast Regional Blood Drive Supervisor Liliana Contreras said. “Many people are not able to have medical procedures due to the blood shortage, so I know that they are very appreciative of the support from Grace England and its families today.”

At Grace England Early Childhood Center, there’s no shortage of heart in the school or the community. After staff shared statistics of lives being saved with community help over the years at their family engagement events, they were able to bring their families together to donate blood.

“We feel this is important because it strengthens our relationship with our surrounding community,” Grace England Parent Liaison Lety Evans said. “Grace England proudly serves our students not only by providing a great education, but also investing in the well-being of our families.”

Klein ISD is so grateful for all those in our Klein Family who dedicate their time to giving back to others. Grace England Early Childhood Center has an amazing community and we are so proud of how they represent us.
