The Klein ISD Geospatial and Land Surveying Pathway is now accepting applications for Fall 2020! This accelerated college pathway is open to current Klein ISD eighth-graders enrolled in Algebra 1 and freshmen currently enrolled in Principles of Applied Engineering.
What is Geospatial Engineering and Land Surveying?
This is a highly-competitive and highly-paid career field today that allows students interested in math, science, and technology will learn to gather data to design and build accurate digital models of places on Earth. Yes, part of this career is literally exploring the world!
Due to an aging workforce in the geospatial and land surveying industry, there is a high demand for well-educated, quality employees. This means a high probability of job placement!
Program Advantages
- Graduate high school under the Distinguished Plan
- Rigorous program that will put students on the fast-track to a future career as a Geospatial Engineering, Land surveyor, and/or GIS Technician
- Earn Endorsements in Business and Industry, Arts and Humanities, and Multidisciplinary Advanced
- Earn workforce credentials from Lone Star College
- Obtain Associates of Science or Art from Lone Star College-University Park
- Project-based learning
- Transfer 45-66 hours of college credits to 4-year university
