Scrub into Klein ISD’s Model Advanced Nursing Program

The Klein ISD Advanced Nursing Pathway is now accepting applications for Fall 2020! This unique, highly-esteemed pathway is open to ALL Klein ISD eighth-graders interested in jump-starting their future career in nursing.
Students who successfully complete the rigorous program will obtain an Associate of Arts degree from Lone Star College – Tomball while simultaneously earning their high school diploma.
“This first-of-its-kind program is an incredibly exciting opportunity to serve students’ needs and interests,” Klein ISD Executive Director of College & Career Pathways Beth Gilleland said. “It’s gratifying to watch students explore their passion for their future career in health science and pursue their dreams.”
Don’t Break the Bank
Industry-standard certifications and licensures are built into the Associate’s Degree pathway. That’s right – before our students even walk the stage at NRG for their high school graduation, they’re eligible to obtain the Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) Level 1 certificate.
“I’m grateful for this program because it’s preparing us for things that we’ll see and experience in the real world while saving so much time and money,” Nursing Cohort of 2020 Class President Kwisha Patel said.
We are so proud to be paving the way for pathway exploration in public education. The Texas State Board of Nursing has indicated that the program will serve as a model for future nursing pathway programs in the state of Texas.
