Buy a Pig, Send a Kid to College
Our dedicated FFA students have been working tirelessly (literally, those 5 a.m. feedings are no joke) over the year to develop and care for their projects in order to do well during the 51st Annual Klein ISD Livestock and Project Show happening February 5 through 8.
After seeing how their animal or visual project compares to their peers’, the best of the best will make it to auction and all of that hard work will come to a bittersweet end.
The auction, happening Saturday, February 8 at the Klein Multipurpose Center at 1:30 p.m., is more than just an event for these students. It’s the first step they will take on their way to their professional career, whether that’s in agriculture or not!
Yes, the auction proceeds fund scholarships and purchase of the next year’s projects for Klein ISD students! And as student participation grows, we need our community more than ever in order to have a successful show and support these future leaders.
There are approximately 105 lots sold that include the Grand and Reserve Champion projects, as well as

How can you help?
Participating as a buyer is by far the most unique way to support our youth. Buyers groups are an opportunity to participate in the auction process by pooling your funds with other like-minded individuals to support the students. You can join a buyers group or create your own, which is a fun activity to involve your friends and business partners!
You can also:
- Add monetary amounts to the sale of student projects
- Purchase student projects that do not make the auction – these students worked just as hard but just missed the mark!
I’m not a farmer or a gardener, but I want to support somehow!
We hear you! Once an item is purchased the buyer has several options.
- The purchase may be sent to a processor
- The buyer may donate the project to the student’s FFA Chapter
- The buyer may donate the project to Boys and Girls Country or another show-approved charity
Last year, the auction proceeds totaled $157,526. Read more about it here! In Klein ISD, we’re in the business of cultivating leaders, reaching our purpose, and breaking records. Help us do all three on February 8!
