Klein Leadership Coalition Holds Second Cohort Kickoff Meeting

Over 200 members from our Klein community gathered for the first meeting of the Second Cohort of the Klein Leadership Coalition (KLC). We were happy to see some familiar faces and welcomed some new ones. These members include community leaders, Klein ISD parents, educators, business owners, members of the clergy, Klein ISD Board of Trustees members, and district leadership.

The Klein Leadership Coalition accomplished a great deal during its first year, from advocating in Austin, writing letters and making phone calls directly to representatives, and sharing all about what makes Klein a great place to call home. Their collective voice made a difference for Klein ISD and Texas public schools.

“I am so excited to join the Klein Leadership Coalition and build off of the foundation of the year one cohort,” Stacy Alexander said. “As a parent and employee of Klein ISD, I love seeing the positive energy coming from our district leaders and the community relating to our Klein students!”

Members participated in a “Tradition of Excellence and Innovation Tour” showcasing the many wonderful things happening in Klein ISD, such as our CTE Pathways, Character Education, and our fantastic Family Engagement program.

State Representative Sam Harless even provided a glimpse into what advocating for our schools, our district, and our community is all about. We are so grateful for the partnership we have with our State Representatives.

Members built relationships with each other as they discussed the great things happening in Klein ISD. They left feeling empowered to share their learnings with their community!

The KLC will meet each month to learn, share, and communicate more about what makes Klein ISD a great place to call home.

The KLC’s mission is to LEARN how Klein ISD is working to fulfill its promise to our students, SHARE key information about district happenings with your neighbors so that we’re all well-informed, and COMMUNICATE how having a strong public school district keeps Klein a great place to live and learn.
