Klein Oak Football Star Named ‘Showstopper of the Year’
Klein Oak and All-American football star Dwight McGolthern will graduate from Klein Oak with a hefty list of accolades to his name.
After playing in the most esteemed high school football sporting event in the country, the All-American Bowl, Dwight was awarded Showstopper of the Year by Houston Inside High School Sports.
“I felt grateful and blessed but honestly I couldn’t do it without my teammates,” he said. “I’m just grateful for every opportunity, it’s a blessing and I can’t thank this school and district enough.”
After helping Klein Oak reach round 3 of the district playoffs, four-star cornerback Dwight McGlothern definitely had an impressive season with a total of 40 tackles and four interceptions on defense. McGlothern also had 66 catches for 1,307 yards and 18 touchdowns on offense as a receiver.
If you’re not fluent in football, that means that Dwight is a really good athlete – mentally and physically.
“Sometimes your body can be beat up but if you have the mentality to keep going, you’re going to do it,” he said.
After representing Klein ISD amongst the greatest in the game at the All-American Bowl, Dwight committed to LSU live on national T.V.
“Most definitely I’ve always wanted to represent the district and my school,” Dwight said. “At the end of the day I’m always with Klein Oak and people are going to know that I’m an Oak alumni.”
We look forward to watching his Tiger football career and we know he will defend the championship title with might, even if some of us (see below) find it hard to say goodbye.
