Klein ISD All-State Musicians Musically and Academically Talented
Seventeen Klein ISD students will represent Klein ISD at the Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA) Convention this month. As a Best Community for Music Education, we take great pride in seeing our students excel in their passion for music.
These 17 students earned the honor of being named an All-State musician after competing at the Region and Area levels of competition. Nearly 70,000 students from across Texas started the audition process in September. These All-State musicians represent the top two percent of all music students in Texas.
“The All-State process represents one of the most competitive and rigorous auditions a student musician can experience in Texas,” Klein ISD Director of Fine Arts Joel Wren said. “As students progress through the Region and Area levels of competition, the level of musical mastery increases exponentially. Our 17 students who have been named to the All-State music groups this year represent the very best in individual musicianship and refinement of their craft.”
The link between SAT scores and musicians
Wow! Not only are our All-State musicians incredibly talented, but they are also incredibly smart. According to TMEA, All-State musicians average 1302 on their SAT while the national average is 1068 and the Texas average is 1032. The benefits of a well-rounded Klein ISD education are clear!
And the 17 selected musicians are…
Help us congratulate these amazing students for all of their hard work inside and outside of the classroom.
