28 Klein Collins Student-Athletes Participate in 2020 National Signing Day

In Klein ISD, National Signing Day is one filled with cheering, clapping, high-fives, and celebration cupcakes.

Today, 28 Klein Collins student-athletes signed a letter of intent to the college of their choice, many with high-dollar scholarships attached.

“We are so incredibly proud of and impressed by our student-athletes and their performance both in the classroom and in their respective sports,” Klein ISD Superintendent Dr. Jenny McGown said. “Thanks to our committed coaches and teachers, we know that our students have a solid academic foundation and will be successful.”

This day was a culmination of four years’ hard work being recognized, respected, and celebrated.

“Signing day is a big step in my journey and it means a lot that my family and friends could be here to support me,” East Texas Baptist University soccer commit Kayla Jacoby said. “I am really excited for what the future has in store for me. Playing for Klein Collins has really helped me a lot. Wins, losses, and working as a team together has helped me prepare for college as a whole.”

It’s an emotional day for students, teams, and families. But one filled with great pride for our incredible coaches who watched it all unfold season after season.

“I am really excited for these kids to have the opportunity to celebrate all that they have earned,” Athletic Coordinator and Head Football Coach Adrian Mitchell said. “They have really worked for this and the things they have to accomplish to get here today are numerous. Some of these kids have been working toward this day since they were five years old.”

Help us congratulate our outstanding Klein Collins student-athletes!
