19 Klein ISD Destination Imagination Teams Advance to State
Every year, Destination Imagination (DI) teams across Klein impress our educators, coaches, and judges with their quick thinking, problem-solving, and teamwork skills. This year was no different. During Regionals at Klein Cain High School, 134 teams from Aldine ISD, Humble ISD, Tomball ISD, and Klein ISD competed for a chance to advance to the Lone Star Finals. Eighty of these teams were Klein teams with students K-12 competing, some of them for the first time or with new Team Managers.
During Regionals, students competed in 7 DI challenges. Each challenge had a different focus (technical, scientific, and engineering problems). There were even Fine Arts, Improv, and Service-oriented challenges.
“I am so proud of our Destination Imagination competitors,” Klein ISD Superintendent Dr. Jenny McGown said. “We have a long tradition of excellence and innovation in our Klein Family and this year’s creative problem-solvers and scholars continue to amaze us.”
We are especially amazed by Mueller piloting the Rising Stars Challenge which consisted of students from K-2. They were the first team ever in Klein to have a team younger than fourth grade. At the end of the tournament, they were asked to showcase their performance at the TX DI Lone Star Finals!
A job well done to every team that competed. We cannot wait to cheer on our advancing teams at the State competition. Also,
