Klein ISD to Host First Responder Training Event March 3 at KMPC
As part of our Emergency Operations Plan and our continuous focus on student and campus safety, the Klein ISD Police Department, Klein ISD Transportation Department, and Klein Office of Emergency Management will be holding a FULL-SCALE TRAINING EVENT at the Klein Multipurpose Center (7500 Farm to Market 2920, Klein, TX 77379) on Tuesday, March 3 at approximately 10:30 a.m.
The training event will simulate a bus accident, so you will see several decommissioned buses that have been placed on their side using a tow truck. During this training event, you will see many first-responder vehicles such as LifeFlight, fire engines, ambulances, and police cars with lights and sirens.
Please do not be alarmed. This is a training event.
The training event is a controlled simulation monitored by “safety observers” staged throughout the simulation. While the event may look real, please know that it has been carefully planned for months to achieve the goal of ensuring that all the first responders in our area are specifically prepared to respond to a bus accident involving multiple vehicles, including a bus that regularly transports students with special transportation needs.
If you have any questions, please email Klein ISD Director of Emergency Management Rex Evans at firstname.lastname@example.org or call Klein ISD at (832) 249-4266.
