Update #3 – Klein ISD COVID-19

Update #3 – Klein ISD COVID-19

After consulting with Harris County Health Department officials, Klein ISD will hold on a LEVEL 1 status.

The risk of community spread remains low, according to Harris County Health Department officials. All known cases in Harris County have been identified as travel-related cases and the individuals are part of the same traveling group.

Klein ISD continues to closely monitor the potential impact of Coronavirus (COVID-19) on the Klein ISD community. As of today, the district is not aware of any active cases of COVID-19 within its boundaries.

Additionally, as is our common practice, all campuses and buses will be deep cleaned during Spring Break.

Our highly-trained Plant Operations and custodial staff use hospital-grade products in their cleaning regimen to help stop the spread of communicable illnesses.

Klein ISD also uses Protexus, a state-of-the-art device that is used to clean and sanitize our facilities. (News Coverage – Fox 26, KHOU, Telemundo) Each Klein ISD campus is treated nightly with the Protexus system to ensure a safe, affordable, and highly effective approach to cleaning.

Klein ISD follows the guidance and expertise of national and local health officials to help protect our students and staff from all communicable diseases. The district will continue to communicate the importance of frequent handwashing, covering a cough or sneeze, not touching one’s eyes, nose and mouth, and staying home when ill.

We wish our Klein ISD community a safe and happy Spring Break. We will provide an update to all families on Sunday, March 15, 2020.
