Update #6 – Klein ISD COVID-19

Klein ISD continues to actively monitor the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) situation in conjunction with local and federal health authorities. 

In this update, you’ll find information regarding:

  • Klein ISD moving to LEVEL 3
  • Klein ISD closed Monday, March 16 through Friday, March 20
  • All events and extracurricular activities canceled
  • Klein ISD COVID-19 Update #7 will be provided by 4 p.m. on Friday, March 13

Klein ISD moving to LEVEL 3

Klein ISD has learned of an individual in the Klein ISD community with a presumptive positive case of COVID-19 exposure. This individual and the individual’s family are currently self-quarantined.  

Klein ISD closed Monday, March 16 through Friday, March 20 (5 school days)

Out of an abundance of caution and concern for the safety and well-being of our students and families, we have made the proactive decision that ALL Klein ISD schools will be closed Monday, March 16 through Friday, March 20, 2020. 

While the district is closed, Klein ISD emergency and essential personnel for this evolving situation will continue to consult with local health authorities and convene virtually and regularly in order to conduct a full and ongoing assessment of risks for students and staff.

FREE meals offered to ALL students via curbside pickup

Klein ISD Nutrition and Food Services will be providing FREE curbside meals March 16 and 17 to our Klein Families. Our team will offer one week’s worth of breakfast meals and lunch meals at select campuses. Children 18 and under must be present to receive meals. All meals will be served from 8 a.m to 11 a.m. For more information and a full list of curbside pickup hubs, please visit:

District Events and Extracurricular Activities Canceled 

Effective immediately, all district events and extracurricular activities are canceled until the District reopens or further notice. This includes all district-sponsored UIL, athletics, fine arts, clubs, and group events.
