Update #21 – Klein ISD COVID-19

Welcome to the month of May! Thank you for all of your efforts over the past few weeks to support At-Home Learning. As we begin lessons for the week of May 4, we have the following updates for you:

In this update, you’ll find information regarding:

  • #KleinFamilyNights – Support local businesses
  • Remind – NEW communication tool for Klein ISD families
  • Mental & emotional wellness support
  • At-Home Learning & food distribution continues

#KleinFamilyNights – Support local businesses

While we continue physical distancing in Klein, there’s no better time to support some of our favorite local businesses and restaurants in the area as a symbol of gratitude for all that they do to add necessary services and value to our Klein ISD community. Join us for #KleinFamilyNights by sharing your favorite spots in Klein for family dinners, game nights, and everything in between. And don’t forget to use the hashtag so we can share all the amazing places you share.

Remind – NEW communication tool for Klein ISD families

Over 20,000 families responded to our Klein ISD family satisfaction survey this year. When asked about communication from our schools, Klein ISD families, especially those with students at multiple Klein ISD campuses, were clear that they want one place to go for school communications.

To respond to your feedback, we’ve partnered with Remind. Teachers and schools will start using Remind May 4 on an optional basis. Remind will become the preferred method of school communication starting in the fall.

Remind is synced with our class rosters and will always stay up to date with the contact data Klein ISD families provide in Skyward.

Please look for a Remind activation email in your inbox later today with steps to get started. If you can’t find the Remind email in your inbox or you wish to open your account now, please visit this link and type in the email address we have on file for you.

Mental & emotional wellness support

We know that this time continues to be difficult for many in our community. If you are experiencing distress as a result of the current climate, we encourage you to take a mental health screening to see where you may be on the anxiety scale. This free test has been made available by the National Mental Health Association. Take the test here.

You can also text TALK to 741741. A trained Crisis Counselor receives the text and responds, all from a secure online platform.

At-Home Learning & Food Distribution continues for remainder of 19-20 school year

We will continue to support our students and families with At-Home Learning and food distribution for the remainder of the 19-20 school year, which ends for students on May 28. Lessons and resources are updated weekly and can be found on

For the most up-to-date information on Klein ISD food distribution, please visit For other community resources for food, please call the Houston Food Bank hotline at (832) 369-9390 or the Northwest Assistance Ministries hotline at (281) 885-4555.

Should you have questions for the District about anything related to COVID-19 and Klein ISD, please use the contact form located at for the quickest response and instead of emailing individuals. This form is monitored frequently and responses are provided regularly from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. weekdays.

We know preparing during the fluidity of this situation is challenging, and please know that we appreciate your patience, support, and dedication. While our District buildings may not be open, Klein ISD is always available to support your needs and the needs of our students.
