
Klein ISD Senior Scholar Spotlight – #4

We are so proud of our Klein ISD Class of 2020! Students at each of our five high schools are accomplishing amazing things and chasing their dreams.
As we draw closer to the end of the 2019-2020 school year, we wanted to take this opportunity to introduce our Klein Family to some of our high-achieving seniors who are not only graduating in the top 10 percent of their class but are also leaving behind a strong legacy!
Klein High Senior Scholar Spotlight – Michael Ji

Klein High School Valedictorian Michael Ji grew up in Klein ISD, beginning his educational career at Theiss Elementary.
As his time in Klein comes to a close, he has enjoyed reminiscing on the many memories (and outstanding accomplishments!) he’s made here. Michael attended many prestigious programs such as the Welch Summer Scholars Program at UT – Arlington. He also participated in Science UIL and served as the president of the Science National Honor Society. As a National AP Scholar, Michael is thankful for the opportunities to grow his academic and personal excellence.
“Ever since my very first day in Mrs. Diettrich’s Kindergarten class at Theiss Elementary, remarkable Klein ISD faculty have supported and pushed me every step of the way,” he said. “I have met some exceptional mentors along my academic journey in Klein, and I am incredibly grateful for the insight that they have provided and continue to provide.”
Michael will major in chemistry next fall and plans to pursue a career in dentistry or medicine.

Klein Forest Senior Scholar Spotlight – VanAnh Tran

Klein Forest Valedictorian VanAnh Tran will graduate from Klein ISD with a long list of accolades credited to her name.
VanAnh is an AP Scholar and Dual Credit Scholar, served as the Vice President of HOSA, and actively participated in National Honor Society, Science National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, and Varsity Tennis. Wow! She also volunteered with many community organizations such as Brookdale Senior Living throughout her high school career.
Next fall, she will study at Texas Woman’s University, majoring in Nursing and minoring in Spanish.
“Eventually, I hope to become a general nurse practitioner and attain a PhD in Nursing,” she said. “With this, I wish to be a part of the Doctors Without Borders organization and take part in improving healthcare globally.”

Klein Oak Senior Scholar Spotlight – Luis-Speaker Rodriguez

Klein Oak Valedictorian Luis Rodriguez is the image of a Panther pride!
Luis will graduate as a National Merit Commended Scholar and an AP Scholar. He actively participated in National Honor Society, Spanish National Honor Society, and Zeta Omicron Computer Science Honor Society. He was able to pursue his passion and find his future career path through academics.
“Klein ISD has given me nothing but good experiences that I will carry with me wherever I go,” he said.
Next fall, Luis will attend the University of Texas at Austin to pursue a degree in electrical engineering.

Klein Collins Senior Scholar Spotlight – Andrea Kalani

Klein Collins Valedictorian Andrea Kalani will move to Austin, Texas next fall to attend the University of Texas at Austin and pursue a career in mechanical engineering.
Throughout her time in Klein, Andrea has served as the president of the Environmental Club, History Club, and Spanish National Honor Society. She is also actively involved in Mu Alpha Theta, National Honor Society, and Science National Honor Society. Not to mention, she is a College Board Opportunity Student Ambassador who advocates for her fellow KC Tigers to instill a college and career mindset.
“Klein ISD has surrounded me with a multitude of opportunities and an incredibly supportive environment, giving me everything I needed to surpass my dreams and never stop moving forward,” she said.

Klein Cain Senior Scholar Spotlight – Anya Robinson

Klein Cain High School Valedictorian of the inaugural graduating class of 2020, Anya Robinson, has spent her entire educational career in Klein ISD. She feels that the district has provided her with the tools and experiences to be successful in the next chapter of her education and life.
During her time in Klein, Anya was very active in HOSA – serving as president and a competition officer, as well as being recognized as a two-time International Top 10 Finalist in Extemporaneous Writing! She was also involved in Mu Alpha Theta, National Honor Society, Spanish National Honor Society, and played Junior Varsity basketball. Not to mention, she also earned a Regional Scholastic Gold Key in writing. Wow!
“Klein ISD has provided abundant resources and opportunities to encourage me to pursue my interests and step out of my comfort zone, and in the process, growing as a student and person,” she said.
Next fall, Robinson will major in computer science and pursue pre-medical studies.
