Zwink Elementary Named 2020 National School of Character

After recently being named a State School of Character by, Zwink Elementary earned the esteemed title of National School of Character this month.

The elementary campus is one of only two in the state of Texas to earn this recognition!

“I am so incredibly proud of Zwink for being recognized as a National School of Character for a second time,” Klein ISD Superintendent Dr. Jenny McGown said. “This honor exemplifies the commitment that students, staff, and community have to character development and continuing Zwink’s tradition of excellence in caring for the whole learner.”

National Schools of Character are recognized for putting into place a comprehensive approach to character education that inspires their students to understand, care about, and consistently practice a set of core values that will enable them to flourish in school, in relationships, in the workplace, and, ultimately in life.

Additionally, they must meet the rigorous standards articulated in’s 11 Principles Framework for Schools. Each school is evaluated by a team of trained educators who assess how a school’s “shared values” are motivating students to do the right thing.

“Being recognized as a National School of Character is a great honor,” Zwink Principal Stacey Vaglienty said. “This recognition shows how committed our students, staff, and community are to modeling our core values and great character. We are honored with this recognition because it represents our unwavering desire to instill great character and values within each of our Zebras.”

We are so proud of the Zwink Zebra Family. Thank you for exhibiting such dedication to your strong values.
