Klein Community Comes Together to Honor Seniors in Drive-Thru Photoshoot

With school buildings closed through May, the Klein ISD Class of 2020 realized their final days in Klein would look different than originally planned. In true Klein Family fashion, our loyal business partners stepped up to make sure our seniors felt special in the midst of this pandemic.

DeMontrond Collision hosted a free, two-day, social distancing-approved, drive-thru photoshoot for more than 600 Klein ISD seniors on Friday and Saturday. The event was a safe way to honor our graduates and their amazing accomplishments.

“We wanted to do a good thing for the community,” DeMontrond General Manager David Latta said. “I personally have a daughter that’s a senior, she’s missing out on her senior year and we all know that’s a horrible thing.”

Every senior got to choose from one of six backdrops and walked away with a free, professional portrait!

“I was very excited to come do this,” Klein Cain senior Ashtin Pyle said. “It’s really nice and we all really appreciate it.”

The event was such an overwhelming success that the originally-available time slots filled up in minutes! The collision center quickly worked with local photographers to open up additional spots for portraits.

“We realize these are difficult times for everybody and their families,” Stephanie Davis of SD Photography said. “They’ve missed out on so much for their senior year so this is a little something to tell them that we’re proud of them, this is a huge achievement, and they should be proud of themselves.”

As an added bonus, the wonderful folks at Cormier’s Kitchen sponsored food for our friends at D-Leecious Bites to prepare yummy BBQ sandwiches for our seniors, post-photo-op, of course.

“We came out here today to make a memory for all these kids in Klein ISD and make sure they enjoy their graduation,” Owner of D-Leecious Bites Chef Lee White

Thank you again to DeMontrond Collision, Cormier’s Cajun Kitchen, D-Leecious Bites, The Fig Pig, Tasco Auto Color, SD Photography, and Light Rae Photography for creating a drive-thru memory for our seniors during this uncertain time.
