Klein ISD Senior Scholar Spotlight – #6

We are so proud of our Klein ISD Class of 2020! Graduates from each of our five high schools have accomplished amazing things and are chasing their dreams.

Although the  2019-2020 school year has concluded, we want to continue to introduce our Klein Family to some of our high-achieving graduates who not only graduated in the top 10 percent of their class but also left behind a strong legacy!

Klein High Senior Scholar Spotlight – Forrest Sun

Klein High School graduate Forrest Sun will take his studies to The University of Texas at Austin this fall to major in computer science.

During his four years at KHS, he was involved with Bearkat TV, National Honor Society, Science National Honor Society, HOSA, and Interact. He even co-founded Klein Esports and became a National Merit Commended Scholar. Forrest is truly a jack of all trades!

“Klein gave me too many memories to count in four years, and I wouldn’t trade them for anything,” he said.

Forrest, we wish you well in your future endeavors!

Klein Forest Senior Scholar Spotlight – Meerib Waseem

Klein Forest High School graduate Meerib Waseem is more than a softball star!

When she wasn’t on the field, she participated in Engineering Architecture Technology Club, French Club, Visual Arts Scholastic Event, Interact, multiple honor societies, and Academic Decathlon.

“Klein Forest always made me feel accepted and involved,” she said. “Without the constant reminder of Mr. Alexander’s love for us, and the core values taught there, I would not be where I am today.”

In the fall, Meerib will take her studies to the University of Texas at Austin to study Biomedical Engineering.

We are proud of you for spreading your Golden Eagle wings, Meerib!

Klein Oak Senior Scholar Spotlight – Armin Momin

Klein Oak High School graduate Armin Momin is also a graduate of the esteemed International Baccalaureate (IB) program at the campus.

As an IB student, Armin was dedicated to her studies but was also highly-involved on campus and in the community. She participated in dance, DECA (4-time District Winner, 3-time State Winner, and Top 10 International Finalist), and multiple honor societies. She also became a National Merit Scholar Finalist and always had her eye on the future by participating in the Harvard Pre-College Program and University of Houston Design Experience Summer Program.

“The opportunities that I‘ve had throughout high school, especially through the International Baccalaureate program, have allowed me to challenge myself and grow in all aspects of my life, and I am very grateful to Klein ISD for supporting its students to such a great extent,” she said.

Armin’s next stop is Georgia Tech this fall to study Architecture.

As always, we are impressed by your accomplishments and look forward to your future!

Klein Collins Senior Scholar Spotlight – Rhea Alex

Klein Collins graduate Rhea Alex is grateful to the foundation that her time in Klein ISD provided her.

Rhea served as an officer in the Environmental Club, HOSA, and Junior Achievement. She also participated in multiple honor societies!

“Klein has given me my closest friends, my most cherished memories, and a quality education that will sustain me in the future,” she said.

This fall Rhea will attend the University of Texas at Austin to major in Environmental Engineering.

Klein Cain Senior Scholar Spotlight – Tomas Romero

Tomas Romero is a history-making graduate from the inaugural Klein Cain graduating class.

He was highly-involved during his time as a Hurricane, participating in Varsity soccer, Chamber Orchestra, and multiple honor societies. He also volunteered with Key Club, Service Through Music Club, and at Abandoned Animal Rescue.

“Klein Cain allowed me to break my limits in terms of athletics, academics, and as a musician by giving me excellent resources in all fields,” he said.

Tomas plans on studying biomedical or chemical engineering this fall. He’s currently undecided on a university – choosing between Notre Dame, Yale, Duke, Johns Hopkins, and Georgia Tech is a tough decision!
