Klein ISD Senior Scholar Spotlight – #7
We are so proud of our Klein ISD Class of 2020! Graduates from each of our five high schools have accomplished amazing things and are chasing their dreams.
Although the 2019-2020 school year has concluded, we want to continue to introduce our Klein Family to some of our high-achieving graduates who not only graduated in the top 10 percent of their class but also left behind a strong legacy!
Klein High Senior Scholar Spotlight – Brandon Wu
Klein High graduate Brandon Wu is a proud product of Klein ISD, having spent his entire educational career in the district!
“From Frank Elementary to Doerre Intermediate to Klein High School, every single staff member has contributed to my intellectual and academic growth,” he said.
This Bearkat graduate was highly involved on campus, participating in Speech & Debate, DECA, Orchestra, and National Honor Society. He even held leadership roles in many of those organizations!
“I am immensely thankful for the countless opportunities I had in my K-12 education, and I truly feel like I have gained the tools to achieve success after I graduate.”
Brandon is planning to study International Relations or Economics this fall, but he’s still undecided on where his studies will take him – with so many amazing college options to choose from, the decision is difficult for this scholar!
We are so proud of you Brandon, and we know you have a bright future ahead.
Klein Forest Senior Scholar Spotlight – Jimmy Vuong
Klein Forest graduate Jimmy Vuong graduated in the top 10 percent of the Golden Eagle Class of 2020.
During his time at Klein Forest, he served as Vice President of the Programming Team and volunteered at his church.
This fall, Jimmy will study computer science at the University of Houston.

Klein Oak Senior Scholar Spotlight – Zain Sunesara
Klein Oak Class of 2020 graduate Zain Sunesara will attend the University of Texas at Austin this fall to study finance.
During his time as a Panther, Zain participated in DECA, Basketball, Klein Oak Against Cancer, and served as an Official SAT Ambassador.
“Klein ISD has enabled me and given me the opportunity to expand my knowledge and feel confident about my future,” he said. “The teachers and administrators that I have met have created a profound impact on me that I will cherish and remember forever.”

Klein Collins Senior Scholar Spotlight – Irissa Machetta
Klein Collins Class of 2020 graduate Irissa Machetta graduated with a long list of accolades attached to her name.
In addition to graduating in the top 10 percent of the Tiger Class of 2020, Irissa participated in the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) STEM Program and NASA Aerospace Scholarship Program. She also had multiple articles published in esteemed STEM magazines and was an exhibitor at the University of Texas Cockrell School of Engineering’s “Women in Engineering” event. Not to mention, she participated in honor societies and organizations on campus and volunteered regularly.
“The friends that I have made and the extraordinarily caring teachers have made Klein ISD a second home for me,” she said.
Irissa will attend Harvard University next fall to pursue a degree in bioengineering/ aerospace, setting her on the path to be on NASA’s Astronaut Training Program.

Klein Cain Senior Scholar Spotlight – Holly Sullivan
Klein Cain graduate Holly Sullivan is one of the history-making scholars from the high school’s inaugural Class of 2020.
Holly was a highly-involved Hurricane, participating in Mu Alpha Theta, National Honor Society, Key Club, Asian American Club, golf, and dance. Talk about a well-rounded educational experience!
“I would not be the person I am today if it weren’t for Klein ISD,” she said. “I gained countless friendships and grew as a person thanks to the opportunities Klein has given me.”
This fall, Holly will attend the University of Notre Dame to study pre-health.
