Klein ISD Senior Scholar Spotlight – #8

We are so proud of our Klein ISD Class of 2020! Graduates from each of our five high schools have accomplished amazing things and are chasing their dreams. 

Although the  2019-2020 school year has concluded, we want to continue to introduce our Klein Family to some of our high-achieving graduates who not only graduated in the top 10 percent of their class but also left behind a strong legacy! 

Klein High Senior Scholar Spotlight – Kwisha Patel

Klein High graduate Kwisha Patel accomplished many things during her time as a Bearkat.

The future nurse participated in HOSA, National Honor Society, Puzzle Club, and Spanish National Honor Society. Most notably, she served as President of the 2020 Advanced Nursing Cohort. 

“Klein ISD has given me the opportunity to get a headstart in my nursing education, and I am grateful for all of the memories I have made in all of these years,” she said. 

Kwisha will attend Texas Woman’s University to complete her nursing education. 

We are so proud of you, Kwisha!

Klein Forest Senior Scholar Spotlight – Viet Le

Klein Forest Class of 2020 graduate Viet Le will attend the University of Texas at Austin this fall to study computer science.

During his time as a Golden Eagle, Viet participated in Band, Orchestra, Percussion Ensemble, National Honor Society, and the Computer Programming Team. He also became an AP Scholar with Distinction. 

We are so proud of your accomplishments, and we are cheering you on! 

Klein Oak Senior Scholar Spotlight – Abigail Reed

Klein Oak graduate Abigail Reed graduated from the Panther campus with a long list of accolades and accomplishments attached to her name. 

In addition to participating in Dance, Choir, and Theatre, Abigail also participated in National Honor Society and Legacy League. She represented the best and brightest in Klein ISD when she became a National Merit Scholarship Finalist and secured multiple Tommy Tune Awards. Wow! 

“I have attended Klein ISD schools since kindergarten, and I have been so blessed by all the wonderful teachers who have taught me along the way,” she said. “I am also grateful beyond words for all the friends who I’ve met in school who have changed my life for the better” 

This fall, Abigail will attend Baylor University.

We are rooting for you, Abigail! 

Klein Collins Senior Scholar Spotlight – Ian Johnson

Klein Collins graduate Ian Johnson will attend the University of Texas at Austin to study architecture this fall, fulfilling the first step in his goal of becoming a residential architect. 

Ian is thankful for the opportunities Klein ISD gave him to explore many subjects, as that allowed him to pinpoint his passion for architecture. 

“Since the first day of my Klein ISD career, I have had the honor of learning a wide range of topics every year while growing as a student,” he said. “One would be hard-pressed to find the diversity of courses offered by Klein anywhere else.”

As a Tiger, Ian participated in Varsity tennis, National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, the Technology Student Association, and Latin Club. He became a National Merit Commended Scholar and an Advanced Placement Scholar with Distinction. 

We are excited to see what you accomplish, Ian!

Klein Cain Senior Scholar Spotlight – Kiana Lowery 

Klein Cain Varsity athlete Kiana Lowery will be taking her academic and athletic career to the next level by attending The University of Texas at Austin this fall to study biochemistry and compete on the track and field team. 

“Being a Klein ISD student has allowed me to embark on a journey of self-discovery, faith, perseverance, and wisdom,” she said. “My time in this district has allowed me to attain invaluable leadership and collaborative skills that I would not have otherwise.” 

Aside from serving as the Varsity Basketball Captain, Kiana also participated in Klein Cain Varsity Track and Field, USATF (Track Houston), B.E.S.T. (Bringing Exceptional Students Together), National Honor Society, and the Principal’s Advisory Council. 

After receiving her Bachelor of Science, Kiana plans to continue her educational journey to earn her joint M.D./P.h.D to become a biomedical scientist. She hopes to serve as a role model for female African American students. 

“I want to show others who look like me that there are no limitations on who they can be and what they are capable of,” she said. 

You will go on to accomplish many incredible things, Kiana, and we are so proud of you!
