Please see a special message for the graduating class of 2020 from Superintendent Dr. Jenny McGown and our high school principals.

Update from Dr. McGown and the high school principals

In-Person Graduation Ceremonies Rescheduled

For everyone’s health and safety, NRG is adhering to Harris County guidelines of social distancing and thoroughly sanitizing their facilities between in-person graduation ceremonies.  Because of the required additional cleaning and sanitation of the facility, NRG will not allow Klein ISD to host all 5 ceremonies in one day.

As a result, provided there are no additional COVID-19 restrictions in place at the time, in-person graduation ceremonies at NRG Stadium have been rescheduled for July 28, 2020, and August 1, 2020, keeping our schools in the same graduation order. Klein ISD attempted to schedule the second day of graduation on July 31 or August 2, but NRG would not permit this. NRG has other commitments on July 29, 30, and 31 and August 2, which necessitated Klein ISD having to hold the first two graduations on the next available date of July 28.

As of today, there isn’t a limit from NRG to the number of people who will be able to attend, and we can’t wait to see you walk across the stage! As part of our graduation planning, it would be helpful to know if you will attend graduation by completing the form at

Currently, outdoor graduation ceremonies are not permissible in Harris County. In the event that NRG is not able to honor these dates and times due to COVID-19 and if conditions change and it becomes permissible to hold outdoor graduation ceremonies, graduations will be held at Klein Memorial Stadium.  Details for this final back-up plan are available on our Class of 2020 website.

We need your RSVP to graduation!

2020 SENIOR PROMS – Rescheduled & now “Drive & Go”

Due to the rising number of COVID-19 cases in Harris County, we must take precautions to ensure your health and well-being. Because of this, we will not be able to have an in-person prom at the Klein Multipurpose Center as we originally hoped. However, we’ve made some alternative plans for prom.

We’re going to celebrate you with a “Drive and Go” Prom at each of our five high schools. You’ll drive up, strut your stuff in your best prom attire, and take pictures for the paparazzi on the red carpet! Your campus administration will be sending you more detailed information soon.

We are heartbroken that COVID-19 continues to present challenges for these very important milestones in your life, but we remain dedicated to celebrating you as the Class of 2020 in the best way that we can. We are so proud of you and hope to see you soon!
