History Teacher Selected for C-SPAN Fellowship

History Teacher Selected for C-SPAN Fellowship

C-SPAN announced this week that Klein High School history teacher Evangeline Mitchell has been selected as one of five participants in C-SPAN’s 2020 Teacher Fellowship Program.

This summer, Mitchell will collaborate virtually with C-SPAN’s Education Relations Team for four weeks to create content for C-SPAN Classroom — a free online teaching resource for educators.

“I am honored by this opportunity to learn and grow, and I’m excited to help create lessons that are creative and engaging for students,” she said.

Mitchell is a veteran teacher beginning her 20th year in the classroom! She has worked with C-SPAN for several years, including hosting the C-SPAN Bus for students and participating in the C-SPAN teacher conference. She also regularly attends and presents professional development for teachers and is always looking to share her learning with other teachers.

“Evangeline has a talent for bringing history to life, and her continued professional growth with C-SPAN will bring engaging lessons to her students and invaluable resources for her colleagues,” Klein ISD Superintendent Dr. Jenny McGown said.
