Klein ISD Board of Trustees President Earns Master Trustee Designation

Klein ISD Board of Trustees President Earns Master Trustee Designation

Leadership TASB named Klein ISD Board of Trustees President Doug James a Master Trustee last week.

This designation signifies Mr. James’ strong commitment to serving the Klein community as a Board of Trustees’ member.

“I acknowledge the fact that in this challenging season, leadership is not just about being in charge – it, more than ever, is about taking care of those who are in our charge,” James said. “This one of a kind leadership development program is designed to take board members to a new level of service and leadership, especially during the uncertain history we’re living through right now – a global pandemic, social justice, economic and equity issues.”

Mr. James has spent countless hours over the year-long program learning from nationally-recognized leaders on topics such as teamwork, trusteeship, equity, diversity, and visionary leadership.

“We are so grateful for Mr. James’ leadership as the Klein Family’s School Board President,” Superintendent Dr. Jenny McGown said. “School Board members are dedicated public servants who volunteer their time and talent to our district, and Mr. James’ distinction as a Master Trustee further demonstrates his commitment to the students, staff, and community of Klein ISD.”

Leadership TASB is a unique board-development program designed to take experienced board members to a new level of service and leadership by exposing them to a variety of issues, people, activities, and locations.

Mr. James is one of three trustees in the history of Klein ISD to receive this recognition as Master Trustee with the other two Master Trustees being current Klein ISD Board Vice President Georgan Reitmeier and former board member Steve Smith.
