Update #8: Roadmap to Reopening Klein ISD

Even amidst the challenges presented by COVID-19, we are looking forward to the 2020-2021 school year.

Update to the 2020-2021 school calendar

This evening, the Board of Trustees approved a revised 2020-2021 school calendar, including moving the start of the 2020-2021 school year for all students to Tuesday, September 8, 2020. Students will begin either in Klein Online or Klein On-Campus, based on the enrollment verification completed by families prior to July 31. The last day of instruction is still prior to Memorial Day, which remains unchanged in the revised calendar.  

Technology Distribution Update

Klein ISD will continue distributing devices to students for online learning for families who indicated that they needed a student device on their Enrollment Update choice. The dates, times, and locations are indicated below.

If you need to change your device request, please contact familyaccess@kleinisd.net as soon as possible.

As part of our response to COVID-19, all insurance and security deposits for district-issued student devices have been waived for the 2020-2021 school year.

*Please note: STUDENTS MUST BE PRESENT TO RECEIVE A DEVICE AND SIGN AN AGREEMENT.*

Technology: Devices for Elementary Students

Elementary students who indicated a need for a device during their Enrollment Update can receive devices as listed below:

Elementary Technology Date/Time

  • 8 a.m. to noon and 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. 
    • Wednesday, August 12
    • Thursday, August 13
    • Friday, August 14
    • Monday, August 17
    • Tuesday, August 18

Elementary Technology Locations

Klein Forest High School

Students enrolled at the following elementary schools will be able to receive devices at Klein Forest High School:

  • Eiland Elementary
  • Epps Island Elementary
  • Grace England Early Childhood Center
  • Greenwood Forest Elementary
  • Kaiser Elementary
  • Klenk Elementary
  • McDougle Elementary
  • Nitsch Elementary

Klein High School

Students enrolled at the following elementary schools will be able to receive devices at Klein High School:

  • Benignus Elementary
  • Bernshausen Elementary
  • Blackshear Elementary
  • Brill Elementary
  • Ehrhardt Elementary
  • Frank Elementary
  • Hassler Elementary
  • Kohrville Elementary
  • Krahn Elementary
  • Mahaffey Elementary
  • Mittelstadt Elementary
  • Theiss Elementary

Klein Collins High School

Students enrolled at the following elementary schools will be able to receive devices at Klein Collins High School:

  • Benfer Elementary
  • Fox Elementary
  • French Elementary
  • Haude Elementary
  • Kreinhop Elementary
  • Kuehnle Elementary
  • Lemm Elementary
  • Metzler Elementary
  • Mueller Elementary
  • Northampton Elementary
  • Roth Elementary
  • Schultz Elementary
  • Zwink Elementary

Technology: Devices for Intermediate Students

  • Please note: STUDENTS MUST BE PRESENT TO RECEIVE A DEVICE.
  • Incoming 6th graders can receive devices at their intermediate school from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m and 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., Monday, August 10 through Friday, August 14.
  • All incoming 7th and 8th-grade students should keep the device they were issued last year.
  • All new intermediate school students can receive devices at their zoned intermediate schools from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 3 to 7 p.m., Monday, August 10 through Friday, August 14.
  • If students need help with a device, they can visit the repair center on campus from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily or submit a Tech Help Form.

Technology: Devices for High School Students

  • Please note: STUDENTS MUST BE PRESENT TO RECEIVE A DEVICE.
  • All newly enrolled high school students can receive devices at their zoned high school from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., Monday, August 10 through Friday, August 14.
  • All currently enrolled 10th-12th graders should keep the device they were issued last year.
  • If students need help with a device, they can visit the repair center on campus from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily or submit a Tech Help Form.
