Klein Oak Teacher Begins His 50th School Year

Klein Oak High School teacher Benji Arnold just celebrated his 50th first day of school as a very proud, and humbled teacher.
As Klein ISD began the 2020-2021 school year, Mr. Arnold continued doing what he loves most, teaching Sociology at Klein Oak High School and taking care of his students.
“Mr. Arnold is a huge supporter of all things Klein Oak,” Klein Oak High School principal Thomas Hensley said. “He’s at all sporting events and fine arts events at Klein Oak, and we are so thankful for him!”
Mr. Arnold’s previous 49 years were very similar. He was able to support his students not only in the classroom, but also watching their talents during sports events and fine arts events. However, this year, Mr. Arnold is approaching this year like none other.
“I had to learn all the virtual aspects of teaching,” Mr. Arnold said. “This will be a year like none other, from presentation and getting to know the students and building relationships. It’ll probably be one of the biggest challenges of my career.”

Despite the school year looking a little different, Mr. Arnold is looking for new ways to interact with his students.
“I am excited and just a little bit nervous,” Mr. Arnold said. “I’m hoping I can continue to push my students into the right direction.”
This is an exciting accomplishment that Mr. Arnold has reached and Klein ISD could not be more proud to have him in our Klein Family!
