New Tech Locker Conquers Digital Barriers

New Tech Locker Conquers Digital Barriers

Klein ISD is thrilled to announce the launch of the new self-serve digital tech drop-off cabinet. The digital tech drop-off cabinet is located at the Klein Police Department ( 7407 Louetta Road, Klein, TX 77379 ) and houses pre-approved devices and WiFi hotspots for students who are currently in quarantine, but need a device and/or WiFi hotspot. The digital tech drop-off cabinet is available for use 24/7, 365 days a year.

In order to pick up a pre-approved device and/or WiFi hotspot at the digital tech cabinet, families must first contact the Klein ISD IT department. After contacting the IT department and receiving approval for device and/or hotspot pickup, the family will receive a code they can use in order to pick up their device and/or hotspot from the digital tech drop-off cabinet.

This innovative technology delivery model is a helpful offer to parents and students in need and extends Klein ISD’s ability to more efficiently manage device requests as tech needs expand beyond previous expectations.

“We are so excited for the convenience and ease these cabinets will bring to our students and parents,” IT Director Chris Cummings said. “Here in Klein ISD, we are always striving to bring technology and solutions to help with easing the stress of these uncertain times.”

The digital tech drop-off cabinet can be found on the left side of the lobby between the display case and the bench. Those looking to pick up a device or hotspot may begin by touching the lit screen to the left side of the cabinet and following the subsequent directions to retrieve the device.

Families who require further assistance picking up their device and/or hotspot may contact Klein ISD’s Information Technology department here.
