Klein Cain Junior Named Number One Running Back in the Nation
The Hurricane football star has been working tirelessly and it’s no surprise that he was ranked number one for the fall football season. As a sophomore last season, Blue led his team with 1,612 rushing yards and 20 touchdowns.
After the 2019-2020 season, Blue was named the District 15-6A Newcomer of the Year. These are impressive stats for a first-year varsity player.
“It felt good to know that I was ranked number one because it’s something I’ve been working so hard for,” Blue said. “It shows that hard work pays off, and I am ready to keep doing my best.”
Klein Cain Athletic Coordinator and Head Football Coach James Clancy led the Hurricanes to third place in the district for the 2019-2020 season and reached their first playoff appearance in their program’s history last school year.
“We were very excited for that type of recognition from one of our own,” Coach Clancy said. “It’s great recognition for our program and our school district. It lets people know the quality of players we have in our district.”
Klein ISD Athletic Coordinator Darby Young shared his pride in the Klein ISD football programs and its stellar athletes.
“We are especially proud of our five high schools and the talent they are developing within our football teams,” Young said. “It speaks volumes to see a new high school and it’s program with a nationally recognized athlete like Jaydon Blue. We look forward to seeing him excel this year, and the years to come.”
The Newcomer of the Year hopes to continue building his football resume as the Klein Cain Hurricanes look to make the playoffs again this year and reach new heights for their football program
