We would like to hear your feedback in our 3-minute employee survey. We want to know more about how this first quarter has been going for you. Please click on the survey link below and complete it by November 12, 2020.

Upcoming Districtwide Remote Learning Days

As we come to the end of the first grading period, we know that one area in need of immediate attention is additional planning and preparation time for our classroom teachers. We know teachers and campus staff are deeply committed to providing quality instruction for our students and are working harder than ever to teach students both in-person and online.

To provide needed time for teacher planning and preparation, we are designating Remote Learning Days for our students on the following dates:

  • Friday, December 4, 2020
  • Thursday, February 11, 2021
  • Friday, March 12, 2021
  • Friday, April 16, 2021

Students will be learning remotely and asynchronously during these days. The Klein ISD school calendar remains the same for holidays and staff development days.  Each campus will provide more details for their staff in advance of each Remote Learning Day.

In order to ensure a focus on high-quality instruction, it is important that all employees are present on campus on Remote Learning Days. Klein On-Campus students who will be learning remotely on these days will be provided the following:

  • Pre-K through 5th-grade — On-campus students will have the option of completing lessons through paper packets or in Schoology if they have access to their own devices. Schoology lessons will be in an asynchronous format (not live through Zoom). The school will provide paper packets or Schoology assignments to their students in advance of Remote Learning Days. Completing assignments either through paper packets or lessons provided in Schoology will show evidence of asynchronous learning and will satisfy attendance requirements.
  • 6th through 12th-grade — On-campus students will learn through Schoology in an asynchronous format (not live through Zoom). Any assignments given will be submitted by the end of the day for each course. Completing and submitting assignments in Schoology will show evidence of asynchronous learning, and grades for those assignments will satisfy attendance requirements.

Klein Online students (who will remain at home) will:

  • Learn through instructional lessons and posted assignments in Schoology in an asynchronous format (not participate in live Zoom instruction)
  • Satisfy attendance requirements by showing evidence of completing and submitting assignments provided in Schoology.

Each campus will provide their staff with more information in advance of Remote Learning Days.

Thank you!

We are so grateful for the unwavering efforts every staff member has provided to students and their families this year. This has been a historic start to a school year, unlike any other. Each day we are proud to see the progress made in these unusual and challenging circumstances. We are grateful for you and your dedication and sacrifice for our students.
